Dr. Bazin earned her bachelor's degree in education at Avila College in Kansas City, MO in 1974. She began her career as a teacher of children with learning disabilities in Lee's Summit, MO. Dr. Bazin decided to enter optometry school after finding few optometrists who did vision therapy to help her students.
She graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1984 and was accepted in the residency program in vision therapy, pediatric visual development and visual rehabilitation at the State University of New York in New York City, where she stayed on the staff and taught, lectured and did research for several years. Later, she practiced in the New York City suburbs where she married and had a child.
She was the optometric consultant to St. Joseph's School for the Deaf in the Bronx and the Gateway School, a private school for children with learning disabilities in New York City.
Dr. Bazin relocated to the Kansas City area, where she is now practicing
visual rehabilitation and vision therapy full-time.
